When he campaigned for County Executive, Rob Astorino Promised To Cut Property Taxes By 20 Percent.
In a press release, he wrote, “I challenge Andy Spano to join my pledge to cut property taxes by 20%. It can be done, if we take responsibility and become accountable for spending decisions made here at the county level.” (Astorino Press Release, 9/25/05)
But as a County Executive he broke his word, and vetoed legislation that would have cut property taxes by two percent. (The Examiner News, 12/17/10).
Now, under Astorino, Westchester County has the highest property taxes not only in New York, but the highest property taxes in the nation.
If you can’t trust him to manage taxes in Westchester… Who can trust him as Governor?
